Now five to ten percent amount of yearly revenue is lost due to not professional lodgings. Tourists usually have to pay 70-120 EUR for a night in Budapest but if they choose a simple flat over hotel rooms, they can save up to 80 EUR, paying only 40 for a night.
The majority of landlords uses online platforms to grab illegal income when they let their homes. However, after such revenue tax should be paid.
Moreover, young adults and college freshmen find more difficult to get housing as many landlords don't want to let their properties to Hungarians any more, they rather save flats and houses to tourists who foreigners can pay more.
